By Jean Stein and George Plimpton. An oral history of the Robert F. Kennedy Sr. funeral train, it's one of my favorite books of all time. Perhaps not true crime, strictly speaking, but any excuse to carry this tome and to bring it into someone else's life.
This is a hardcover first with a sticker on the spine of the jacket, which is in rough-ish shape -- shelfwear and a couple of tears at the top -- so I've thrown a wrap on for its protection. Boards are fine, though; pages are clean; I don't think the book's been opened very often. This is a great reading copy of an underrated treasure.
