By Harold Schechter. "Bestselling author of Deviant and Deranged" is really something to have on your book cover, eh what? And would explain why I constantly get these three titles confused, but this one is Schechter's H.H. Holmes book (the others are about Gein and Fish respectively). Schechter is a titan in the genre, and for those of you who want to catch up on the Holmes case but don't think you have the patience for Erik Larson's account, this is a solid option.
The paperback is solid as well: some shelfwear, a little nick out of the bottom lefthand corner of the back cover, and a cracked spine -- but a great reading copy to leave on the subway for the next person.
