By Avro Manhattan. Guys, there is so much going on here, starting with the creepy cover (and dire '80s font), and moving on to the author, who in his lifetime appears to have been utterly obsessed with exposing the Vatican as a wretched hive of scum and villainy...when he wasn't running a Radio Free Axis station, after changing his name. Also, he was a baron. Also also, he really likes commas.
There is a documentary about Manhattan (heh) on YouTube -- but the book is about cardinals getting poisoned during papal selections, how the election of John Paul II was a triumph over the KGB, etc. etc. It's in good shape, with a couple marks to the front and some rubbing to the back and edges. But as a 20th-century crackpot artifact (the author photo...there is a monocle, I'm-a leave it there) this first-edition rarity is a bargain at any price.
