Helping our friends in California
There isn't a whole lot a sole-proprietor bookshop can do in the face of the fiery horror in California -- but I can do something, and it's this: have a sale, and donate proceeds to the L.A. County Library. Local libraries are so important to their communities, and the LACL is trying to keep everyone safe and hydrated to the extent they're able...and some libraries in Southern California will have to rebuild from the ground up.
So let's try to put a small dent in a huge problem the best we can. Here's how it works.
- anything and everything tagged "California," "Los Angeles," or "Hollywood" is 20% off for the next two weeks
- "libraries are magic" tag too
- I'll donate all gross proceeds from those tags -- that's alllll the money in the transaction, even the sales tax -- to the LACL
- ...fuggit, anything you leave in the tip jar as well! "You have a tip jar?" Yeah, it's nothing I expect anyone to use but it could be handy here. Don't need a California crime book? Buy something else, leave a tip, I'll throw it in the pile.
Like I said, I'm just one guy and I can't do much...but LACL can do a lot. Let's give them a hand if we can.
