By Arthur Train. A 1922 edition of the 1912 overview by the former New York County district attorney, with chapter titles like “the pleasant fiction of the presumption of innocence” (!!) and prose that describes certain non-law-abiding witnesses as “bounders.”

Some minor bumps and rubbing to the boards and corners, slightly faded spine, but in solid shape for its age. Rather toned inside, but no marks or dog-ears that I could discern, except a previous owner’s name on the flyleaf. Pages are fairly snug; book has a mild but not unpleasant old-book scent. A nice gift for an attorney or an NYC-history buff.
