By Jonathan Kozol. Preface by Dr. Robert Coles. “The Destruction of the Hearts and Minds of Negro Children in the Boston Public Schools”; this “most powerful and shocking book of the year!” won a National Book Award for teacher Kozol’s “true story of life in an American ghetto school.”
This 1968 9th PB printing is in pretty good shape: visible edgewear and toning, a few crunched pages, and a previous owner’s name on the flyleaf. Sits very straight, though, with a functionally uncracked spine; pages are snug and unmarked. A nice midcentury pickup.
