Edited by Marie F. Rodell (the series) and Alvin C. Hamer (this volume); Vol. VIII in the Regional Murder Series (yes, "really"). Cases include the Latimer case, the Case of the Black Legion, and others -- and the bios of each chapter's author are a window into a different time.
So is the book itself; this hardcover 1948 first printing is without its jacket, and shows some shelfwear and page toning consistent with its age. Boards are in relatively solid shape, with a couple of bumps to the back; spine is a bit faded. Foxing to the page edges. A noticeable "old-book" smell, which for some is added value, but off-putting to others, so: FYI.
But books from these series seldom cross my desk; you could do worse than this one.
