By Herbert S. Parmet. A 1980 biography of JFK that purported to tell “new” stories about Kennedy’s “grave” illnesses, ill-considered affairs, and more; subsequent revelations seem to have meant that this bio, once a “go-to,” fell beneath the horizon. Apparently the first of a two-volume set; this one covers Kennedy’s life up to 1960.
The jacket of this HC is a bit frumpy at the corners, cracked and worn at the spine edges, but has done a yeoman job protecting the boards. The book sits straight, and inside is neat, no writing or dog-ears that I could see; some weakness at the hinges where the picture arrays are. But a solid reading copy overall, and somewhat scarce.
