By Dorothy Kilgallen. Kilgallen, in the mix on cases from Sam Sheppard to the assassination of John F. Kennedy to...Sinatra?, was one of the first 500 personages to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and her true-crime writing is now highly sought-after. You have to wonder how the genre would look if she'd stayed in it longer...

This hardcover is the 1967 Book Club Edition, with a better-kept dust jacket than you usually see with these: some mild shelfwear and cracking at the spine, top and bottom, and some rubbing to the leading edges; some toning. The spine does have a forward lean to it, but the pages are snug. No markings or dog-ears inside that I could see, but the flyleaf looks like a previous owner’s name was torn out. You can neaten that up with a pair of scissors if you like.

Copies of Murder One have been scarcer than usual in 2025 for whatever reason, so you might consider investing in this one.
