Might have been better spent on a nicer-looking repair job on the jacket, whose front seam is (barely) hanging on with some mid-century Scotch tape; the rest of the jacket has the expected shelfwear and a few nicks at the top. Looks better inside: clean deckle-edge pages, and one of the more surreal bookplates in memory. A fine copy for reading, research, or contemplating the vagaries of the academic headshot.
