By Nathan F. Leopold. With an introduction by Erle Stanley Gardner. Leopold (yes, "that one") was one half of the notorious pair who murdered Bobby Franks in 1924; the book was part of Leopold's efforts to paint himself to the parole board in a positive light. He was in fact paroled in 1958, the year of the book's publication.
This particular copy is a first edition, no dust jacket. The cover is worn, but not egregiously so: rubbing and bumps to the spine, top and bottom; the top front edge is somewhat "bald." The spine is faded from use. Pages are relatively untoned, with a couple of marks to the leading edges, as shown, and there was a sticker or bookplate on the flyleaf. Not a beauty -- but, for a volume that doesn't seem to circulate much, a bargain at this price point.
