Edited by Marie F. Rodell (the series) and Sewell Peaslee Wright (this volume); Vol. II in the Regional Murder Series (yes, "really"). Cases include Neill Cream, H.H. Holmes, and others -- and the bios of each chapter's author are a window into a different time.
So is the book itself; this hardcover 1945 stated first is jacketless, and shows some shelfwear and page toning consistent with its age. All the corners are rubbed to varying degrees, but not quite bald; there's a visible bump to the top of the front cover.
Books from these series seldom cross my desk; you could do worse than this one.
