By Albert Borowitz. Ross Macdonald’s blurb describes the author’s discussion of a wide historical range of cases, and how he “uses this historical and biographical knowledge to understand what happened, or may have happened” in a series of “brilliant short stories.” Cases include the Moors murders, Mozart, Jack the Ripper, and more.

A 1977 first-edition hardcover with some toning and mild edgewear to the jacket; foxing to the top page edges; previous owner’s bookplate on the flyleaf (and a vintage postcard inside as a bookmark!). Somewhat seldom seen; Borowitz was once a decorated meta commentator on the genre.
