By Edward Jay Epstein. The first in what became Epstein's Assassination Chronicles trilogy, with an intro by Richard H. Rovere and blurbed by Dick Goodwin. Epstein was on the leading edge of published conspiracy thinking around the murder of JFK; the book came out in 1966.
So did this Book Club hardback, whose dust jacket has done yeoman duty: lots of rubbing, erosion and splits at spine edges and corners. But with the exception of the previous owner's name on the flyleaf, the pages (which sport a top-edge red tint) are clean, and the book sits nice and straight. A fantastic reading copy.
