By Vincent Bugliosi. This book is the only thing that kept me from completely losing it during the NYC blackout of 2003, but whether it's actually that compelling/well-written or it just had an extremely captive (and sweaty) audience, I can't really say -- I haven't reread it in the interim. I suspect it hasn't aged terribly well, but whatever else you feel about V. Bugs, you can't say he didn't know how to go on a book-length stemwinder.
This ex-library hardcover is a nice reading copy if you're curious -- stamps and card sleeves inside, a slight lean to the spine and aging to pages, but perfectly readable.
