Edited by Marie F. Rodell (the series) and Joseph Henry Jackson (this volume); Vol. IV in the Regional Murder Series (yes, "really"). Cases include Laura D. Fair, "The Demon in the Belfry" (with a section by Anthony Boucher), the Rosetta Baker murder, and others.
This hardcover 1947 first printing has no jacket, and shows some mild cornerwear and page toning consistent with its age. A little fading to the spine, but overall the boards are bright; the flyleaf has an old price and a previous owner's signature. The pages are snug in the spine, no marks or dog-ears AFAICS. Free bookmark, which is also a fun vintage find.
Books from these series seldom cross my desk; you could do worse than this one.
