In 2013, Oakland teenager Sasha Fleischman was set on fire on the bus on their way home from school -- by another teenager, Richard Thomas, who lived at the opposite end of the 57 line from Sasha. Slater investigated in a New York Times Magazine piece from 2015 that became the book, which won the Stonewall Book Award and was a YALSA-ALA finalist for Excellence In Young Adult Nonfiction.
A somewhat down-at-heel hardcover: nicks and edgewear to the jacket, plus a handful of crunched pages inside. but the pages are clean and it's perfectly readable, at a nice price.
